August 2021

Greetings Lyons Mill Family,

We are in the planning stages for the 2021-2022 school year!

While the last 18 months have been challenging, we are hopeful that there will be some normalcy this school year.

Look for more updates from the PTA soon, but mark your calendars now, we will meet monthly beginning in September on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (6:30-7:30).  For now, we are planning both in person and virtual meeting options.

PTA will only be successful with the active support of our families, parents, grandparents, guardians, faculty, staff and community...Registration will open soon!

Our 2021-2022 focus areas will be as follows:

1) Active Membership:  there are plenty of ways to become involved and/or lend your talents

2) Teacher/staff support + engagement

3) Student Support & Advocacy as we transition 'back to normal'

 4) Creating a LMES Community via Family engagement +  Community Involvement

If there are any questions, suggestions or concerns please feel free to contact us at

Looking forward to meeting you all soon,
Alanna Watson
2021-2022 PTA President

How much does it cost to join?

The cost to join the PTA is $10 per person (not per person).  Membership dues must be paid each school year.

Why is there a cost for membership?

Membership dues are used to provide services, resources and training for our national, state and local PTA.  Monies gained from membership dues and fundraisers allow us to support our school community in many ways including but not limited to: funding visual arts assemblies, supporting before/after school clubs, hosting events and showing our gratitude for school staff on designated staff appreciation days.

Do I have to volunteer if I become a member?

LMES PTA loves our volunteers and could always use a helping hand, however, members are not required to volunteer.

How can I become a member?

Information regarding membership will be available soon.  Be sure to check out our "Membership" page for membership forms and payment information.
